About Me
I’m Chris Beale, a Chartered Psychologist and Workplace Mental Health Consultant based in central London.
Before retraining as a psychologist, I spent many years working in corporate environments, including legal and financial institutions. This experience continues to shape how I work — particularly with clients managing responsibility, pressure, and expectation in their professional lives.
What I often see in my work
In my work, I often see people who are used to functioning well in demanding environments, yet find that internally things feel much less straightforward.
It’s common to experience persistent self-doubt, overthinking, or difficulty switching off — and for this to sit alongside challenges in relationships or managing emotions more generally.
This can be confusing, particularly when, on paper, things appear to be going well.

How I work
My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Where appropriate, I also integrate Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), particularly where past experiences — including difficult or toxic environments — continue to have an impact. I may also use clinical hypnotherapy for focused work on anxiety, habits, and emotional responses.
I also draw on principles from Classical Stoicism, which align closely with modern psychological approaches and offer a practical framework for managing thoughts, emotions, and uncertainty.
A significant proportion of my work is with professionals, including many LGBTIQ clients, navigating identity, relationships, and the complexities of modern working life.
